Tuesday 31 October 2023 7:00pm Cinema Victoria

Admission is free.

Speakers: Yiannis Yalamas – Seraphim Mustakidis

Could AI have become a “bubble” for cinema? But many times, the seventh art has anticipated many current inventions, such as Kubrick’s Hal 9000, which inspired Apple’s Siri. We have evolved as viewers from the point where Spielberg’s themes were considered Science Fiction to today, where the scenarios of Black Mirror seem feasible! In this talk, Giannis and Seraphie, together with the audience, discuss, based on excerpts from films, the future of Artificial Intelligence, the risks it poses to society, human relationships and the arts, as well as optimistic scenarios and ethics and democratization. Extracts from Minority Report, Coded Bias, Artifice Girl, Her, Social Dilemma, Pod Generation and others will be screened and discussed.

While working to improve people's lives and industries, he dreams of a harmonious coexistence between artificial and natural intelligence that will lead to a positive cinematic plot. Where the script is written by all of us, in a world where ethics and innovation are the protagonists. Yannis Yalamas
